Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging evaluation. OCT uses light waves to take cross-section images of your retina. Together with OCT, your ophthalmologist can see each of the retina’s identifying layers.
Similar to ultrasound, this analytical technique uses light instead of sound waves to achieve higher resolution images of the structural layers of the back of the eye.
